EastEnders teases shock wedding ahead of dramatic upcoming storyline

It looks like love is in the air in Albert Square as The Queen Vic was dressed up for a wedding at the EastEnders set in Elstree on Saturday.

Those on set were hard at work as they decorated the iconic pub for upcoming filming, with the characters who are set to wed still a mystery.

The entrance was draped in a huge satin gold sheet, complete with a flower arch and red carpet leading up to the door.

And it looks like viewers are in for a particularly luxurious gathering, with a white horse-drawn cart, also covered in flowers, parked outside.

White and gold balloons and bows were being placed around the building, with shopping trolleys full of decorations being carted around by staff.

What looks like a display easel was placed next to the huge floral display, but the sign revealing who’s wedding it was was nowhere to be seen.

Now, the question on everyone’s minds is who is getting married? MailOnline contacted representatives for EastEnders, who declined to comment.

While bosses are remaining tight-lipped on the newlyweds, there are currently three engaged couples in the show.

The recent filming comes just after the soap’s beloved couple Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), got engaged in heartwarming scenes last month.

Suki got down on one knee, coincidentally in The Vic, and declared her love for Eve.

She gushed: ‘I love you, and I’d walk through fire for you. If I were to live my life again, I’d find you sooner. Will you do me the greatest honour of my life and be my wife?’

Another EastEnders couple that are waiting to tie the knot are Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and his partner Honey (Emma Barton) after a dramatic day at the London marathon in April.

Honey was set to run the marathon with Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) in memory of his beloved late wife Lola Pearce-Brown (Danielle Harold) and Billy was going to get down on one knee before the event.

But Billy loses the ring ahead of the marathon, throwing his plans into chaos.

He is then delayed in getting to the starting line when he needs to take teen Britney Wainwright (Lola Campbell) to the hospital after she has a bike crash.

But, a twist saw all of the characters surprised when TV footage of the race showed Honey proposing to Billy after crossing the finish line.

Reiss Colwell also proposed to pregnant girlfriend Sonia Fowler with his murdered wife’s ring earlier this summer.

Sonia is currently in prison awaiting trial for the murder, which was actually committed by Reiss.

The mystery wedding comes just after an EastEnders legend announced a brand-new career move after two decades on the square.

Rudolph Walker CBE, who has portrayed Jamaican patriarch Patrick Trueman since 2001, has revealed he has written a memoir.

Walking With Dignity tells of all the trials and tribulations the actor, 84, has gone through as well as the highlights of his 60-year career so far.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Rudolph wrote: ‘At last!! My Autobiography ‘Walking With Dignity’ is out 26 Sept.’

‘You can preorder on https://amzn.eu/d/cWyoDGT I hope you enjoy. Do spread the word #autobiography #mylife #actorslife #FamilyFirst.’
