Note: The following article contains discussion of sexual assault.

EastEnders has teased that there will be some shocking news for Yolande Trueman in upcoming episodes.

Earlier this year, Yolande was sexually assaulted by Pastor Clayton while they were working together for the church.

She struggled to come to terms with what had happened, but eventually opened up to her family about the traumatic experience.

Yolande found the courage to report Pastor Clayton to the police and he was arrested. While there wasn’t enough evidence, later another victim called Delia came forward to strengthen the case and he was charged with two counts of sexual assault.

The story has been put on hold since July but is set to be revisited in the next couple of weeks, according to new advanced spoilers released by the BBC.

In scenes that will air on Monday, September 30, Yolande will take “strength from an unlikely source”, but later in the week she will be “floored by some news”.

It remains to be seen just what this shocking information is, but Yolande will be supported by her family in the aftermath of the news.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy last month, actor Angela Wynter confirmed that Yolande’s story is far from over.

“She’s going to be fighting for justice for herself,” she said. “She wants the pastor to go to court and see his day. And it’s a hard slog. That’s all I can say!”

Elsewhere on the Square, Bianca will make a big discovery as her suspicions continue, while Tommy helps out dad Alfie in his hour of need.
