Lainey Wilson Will Return to ‘Yellowstone’ for Season 5, Part 2

Lainey Wilson’s career is like a train moving at 100MPH, and she’s not slowing down. Next up, find her back on Yellowstone.

Wilson played Abby, a country singer, on Season 5 of the hit Taylor Sheridan series, exposing her to a new group of fans.

Up until now, Wilson had been very tight-lipped on whether she would be returning to the show. Per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a new job posting calling for extras in a Wilson-centric scene confirms she will be back.

The Paramount Network series will be filming in Fort Worth, Texas on Sept. 3. They’re shooting a concert scene featuring Wilson’s character, Abby.

An open, all online casting call seeks out women and men of all ethnicities, so long as they’re 18 years or older, as extras for the concert scene. The gig pays $110 for 10 hours of work, with overtime possible.

Yellowstone season 5, part 2 will be arriving in November 2024, and it’s confirmed it will be the last season of the hit show. Audiences cannot get enough of the acclaimed contemporary Western series by Taylor Sheridan, which has been a major success for streaming platform Paramount+. In fact, Yellowstone has already inspired two series spinoffs: 1883 and 1923, period dramas that serve as prequels to Yellowstone, and 6666, an upcoming series about Texas’ Four Sixes Ranch.

Yellowstone season 5, part 1 ended dangerously for the Dutton family. The ranch hands make their way to the Four Sixes in Texas to save their cattle, leaving Kayce in charge. Meanwhile, in a twist to Beth and Jamie’s rivalry in YellowstoneJamie gets the upper hand when threatening to reveal John’s involvement in multiple murders. Anticipating his family’s moves, Jamie gets help from Sarah Atwood, who convinces Jamie to hire assassins. It sets the stage for an intense showdown in the final chapter of the series, with season 5 part 2 promising to be Yellowstone‘s most shocking yet.

Perhaps the largest uncertainty hanging over the entire franchise was the return of Kevin Costner to his role as family patriarch John Dutton.

Yellowstone season 5, part 2 will be building towards the end of the show. Upon finding out about the Train Station in part 1, the first thing Beth does is to suggest to John that they need to kill Jamie, who, in turn, is conspiring with Sarah Atwood to make the first move. For the first time in the show, Yellowstone season 5, part 2 could see the Duttons fighting without Rip by their side, as Rip leads the ranch hands’ journey with the cattle to Texas — possibly connecting the main series to the upcoming 6666 spinoff.

Meanwhile, with Jamie’s impeachment attempt against John hanging over the governor’s head, John Dutton’s conservation easement plan for the ranch could get overtaken by Jamie and Sarah’s schemes to commercialize the property. Broken Rock representatives Chief Thomas Rainwater, Mo, and Angela Blue-Thunder could still turn the tide, depending on how the Duttons’ plans could affect the federal government running a pipeline through the reservation. It sets the stage for an epic end to Yellowstone where there will surely be many casualties by the time season 5 part 2 concludes.
