It’s been three long years since Taylor Sheridan announced that he’s expanding the Yellowstone franchise towards Texas as he’s working on a show that’ll take place in the legendary 6666’s Ranch. Since then, two other Yellowstone spin-off series hit the TV screen with a brand new one being in production and yet we’re still yet to see 6666 despite being the first one announced. Finally, we have some official and brand new knowledge on the show to spill out to you guys with an expected release date that’s not so far away. So without further ado, let’s dive into the video.

The 6666 Ranch is a historic Ranch located in Guthrie Texas in King County. The ranch was established in 1870 by Captain Sanel Burke Bernett who started with a 100 head of cattle and grew it into one of the largest and most successful ranches in Texas. The ranch covers over 275,000 acres and is known for its breeding program of American Quarter Horses which are highly sought after for their speed, athleticism, and temperament. The ranch is known as the place where cowboying was born which explains why Taylor Sheridan, a true Cowboy, is obsessed with it.

Sheridan has a deep connection to the 6666 Ranch due to its rich history and significance. In fact, he didn’t get satisfied with filming a show on the ranch alone; instead, he recently acquired the ranch from the last member of the Bernette family. According to Entertainment Weekly, Sheridan believes that being a Texan comes with a certain level of responsibility since one’s actions and words can represent the entire state and thus he cares a lot about the state’s cultural heritage including the 6666 Ranch.

In 2020, Taylor Sheridan announced that he was creating a television series for Paramount plus based on the 6666 Ranch which will explore the lives of the people who work and live on the ranch. The show is set to be a contemporary Western drama and will focus on the ranch’s Cowboy culture as well as the challenges and conflicts that arise in the modern West. The series has been in production for the past 3 years. In fact, the show is believed to be the replacement for Yellowstone which is revealed to end after the fifth season. So four sixes will act like a sequel to Yellowstone and might be the new location for the Dutton family Saga.

The fact that it’ll be on cable unlike other Yellowstone spin-off series also proves this theory. As far as the casting is concerned, we know that Jefferson white will be on the show as Jimmy while Katherine Kell will play his lover and the vet of the ranch, Emily. We also expect to see Ryan Bingham as Walker on the show. With Yellowstone coming to an end and characters like Rip moving to the 6666 Ranch, we can also expect Rip, Beth, and some other Dutton family members to be a part of the new show as well. In other words, Kelly Riley and Cole Hower are also among the expected cast members for four sixes.

Also, we know that Matthew McConaughey is set to appear in a Yellowstone show as the leading actor since he is a Texan with a strong commitment to his roots. We shouldn’t be surprised to see him in 6666 as perhaps the owner of the ranch. I know that he demanded a fortune to star in the new Yellowstone sequel 2024 but we know that during these negotiations every single option is being evaluated so four sixes might be a nice middle ground for both sides. Also, Taylor Sheridan has been known to work with many of the same actors in his various projects so some other familiar faces from Yellowstone or his other shows and films may also appear in the 6666 series.

As far as the plot is concerned, so far we know that Jimmy and Emily’s love will be at the center stage as well as the forer’s cowboy training on the ranch. Other than that, we don’t have much clue about what to expect from 6666. Still, we know that an average Sheridan show is known for its complex characters, layered storytelling, and a strong sense of place. His shows often explore themes of family loyalty and the American West. They also tend to feature stunning cinematography and a gritty realistic tone.

Sheridan shows are known for their attention to detail and authenticity, particularly when it comes to depicting the customs and traditions of the western lifestyle. Additionally, his shows often feature an ensemble cast of talented actors who bring depth and nuance to their roles so it’s almost impossible for four sixes to disappoint us as it’ll be a shared in production through and through.

The trailer for the new series will be out on October after the release of Yellowstone season 5 part two which will contain clues about the 6666 series. Up until then, we’re expected to have more info on the cast and plot of the new show. Are you excited about 6666? Which Yellowstone character would you like to see in the show?
