‘Yellowstone’ Fans, a Major Update About Season 5 Part 2 Has Just Been Revealed

Yellowstone fans: prepare for some major updates. A new Puck report teases that “the final episodes” of Part 2 of the fifth and final season are “already written,” while filming is slated to begin “in a few weeks.”

Some more intel from the report: Kevin Costner — who left the series ahead of Season 5, Part 2 and had said that he “will probably go to court” over his salary for the upcoming installment — is allegedly “telling people he’s planning to return for at least a cameo and possibly more.”

The kicker is that Puck‘s Matthew Belloni reports “no discussions” have taken place with respect to Costner’s return.

In February, a Puck report teased that series stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly were attempting to secure notable pay raises to join Taylor Sheridan‘s spin-off, originally requesting $1.25 million and $1.5 million, respectively.

The new report claims that “they’re still pushing for more money,” reportedly aiming for “around $1 million an episode.”

“They’re closer now, but not there,” Belloni’s recent report continues.

In the meantime, neither Hauser, Reilly, Luke Grimes, nor prospective cast additions Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer have officially joined the show, per the report. Sheridan has allegedly “figured out the story” for the new project, which Belloni reports “will likely shoot in late summer” and be released following the second half of Yellowstone Season 5.

The news comes after Yellowstone actor Josh Lucas stopped by Watch What Happens Live last Wednesday (March 20), where he said that no one has been clued into how the flagship series will conclude in Season 5, deeming showrunner Sheridan “a closed book” and “a very unusual guy.”

“Most shows have 10 writers, right? Or more,” he shared. “And Taylor is doing all of it himself. And he keeps it very close to the chest so none of us know.”

Yellowstone is now streaming on Peacock Premium.
