The highly anticipated return of one of television’s biggest shows might spark more questions than answers with possible release date announcement.

You know a TV show has moxie when the behind-the-scenes drama is as palpable as what we see in front of it. For a few years running, Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” has supplied plenty of both. One of the key questions that fans continued to ask is if and when the popular show, based on the legacy of a Montana ranch family, would continue. Many of these questions were sparked by rumors that the show’s star Kevin Costner, who plays the main character of John Dutton, would even be back in the saddle come production time for part 2 of Season 5. Add to this a lengthy writer’s and actor’s strike and you can understand some of the delays behind getting this show on the road.

Well, it seems there’s still more than a chance us “Yellowstone” fans will receive some closure after all. According to a web article posted by the publication [9meters], “Yellowstone” season 5 part 2 is set to premiere on November 10, 2024 on Paramount +. This announcement aligns with what Paramount + verified in a release in February, stating that the second half of season 5 would be available for streaming in November 2024.

In late April, another “Yellowstone” cast member, Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler on the series, told People, he’s “excited to go back to work” after the Paramount Network series was on a long hiatus. Hauser, who was sued by Sheridan last fall due to his Free Rein Coffee logo’s similarity to Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Coffee logo, says he’s still excited to shoot the last half of the show.

“I think he’s going to direct some [episodes],” Hauser said about Sheridan. “So I’m excited about that … just get back up in Montana and go to work.”

The second half of this highly anticipated final chapter will consist of six episodes, according to [9 meters]. With still no word about the show’s highly guarded plot details, fans are left with their own ideas of how the show will end.

There’s a good chance that the final season will pick right up where the mid-season finale left off. John Dutton (Costner) will most likely be confronted with some harsh realities as Governor. Beth (Kelly Reilly) will have her hands full with a new adversary, and Jamie (Wes Bentley) will have to confront his real past and possibly short-lived future. Kayce (Luke Grimes) will also have to come to grips with his vision concerning his family’s survival.

Whatever the outcome, it’s nice to know after a year and a half of waiting, we can actually mark a date on our calendars to begin closure.
