Yellowstone Spinoff, ‘The Madison’, Gets Major Filming Update

It’s officially official: Confirming TVLine’s exclusive scoop from earlier this month, Paramount announced Tuesday that Suits vet Patrick J. Adams and Good Doctor alum Beau Garrett are joining the previously cast Michelle Pfeiffer in the forthcoming Yellowstone sequel series The Madison. Originally titled 2024, the offshoot had been eyed for Paramount Network, but it’s unclear if that is still the plan.

Additionally, My Best Friend’s Exorcism‘s Amiah Miller (pictured, below) and relative newcomer Elle Chapman have also boarded the ensemble as series regulars.

The first present-day offshoot of Taylor Sheridan’s hit neo-Western is being described as “a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”

Adams will play Russell McIntosh, a young investment banker who has followed the life path set before him from the start, while Garrett will portray Abigail Reese, a resilient and sardonic New Yorker who is a recently divorced mother of two.

Chapman co-stars as Paige McIntosh, a somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband (Adams). Miller, meanwhile, will play Bridgette, the eldest daughter of Garrett’s Abigail.

You’ll recall that last fall, Paramount Network ordered to series the then-titled 2024, a Yellowstone sequel that was to star Matthew McConaughey and possibly feature Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser and Luke Grimes reprising their roles of Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler and Kayce Dutton.

As TVLine reported, Kurt Russell had been in talks to play The Madison‘s male lead. It’s unclear where those negotiations currently stand.

Production on the spinoff is slated to begin later this month in Montana, New York and Texas. It’s expected to premiere sometime in 2025 following the conclusion of the mothership’s Season 5B, which kicks off on Sunday, Nov. 10.
